Accelerating the Global Early Warning and Early Action Agenda

The next step is urgent: early warnings must consistently lead to early action. Forty years of progress on early warning and anticipatory action have shown what is possible when governments, communities, scientists, civil society and international partners work together. Pacific countries have been at the forefront of this journey, demonstrating how regional cooperation and sustained investment can strengthen protection for people facing growing climate risks. Yet, the job is not done yet. Increasing climate risks demand to accelerate urgently effective Early Warning Early Action. As the world approaches the 2027 milestone of Early Warnings for All, this high-level Pre-COP31 session will bring together political leaders and partners from the Pacific and other regions to focus on what must happen next: the policy, institutional and financing shifts needed to connect risk information and forecasts with the capacity and resources to act ahead of disasters.
