Banking on the Transition: Transforming Financial Systems for Green Economies and the Case for Green Lending

This is a proposed side event co-hosted by Luxembourg’s MECB and GGGI, with UNDP participation under consideration. The event will bring together PICs finance and climate officials, development partners, and climate finance practitioners to discuss practical pathways for improving access to adaptation, resilience, and loss-and-damage finance. Through presentations of flagship Luxembourg-funded GGGI initiatives, including the SIDS-CAP program, the Global Trust Fund on Sustainable Finance Instruments, and climate resilience investments in Vanuatu, the event will demonstrate how climate finance can move from pledges to implementation while informing future collaboration under the Pacific Partnership Policy Framework and COP31 Agenda.
