Building Pacific Resilience through integrated Climate Finance

This Pacific-led panel discussion will examine how integrated climate finance can strengthen resilience across PICs and communities. Panellists from regional institutions, governments, academia, and finance will discuss how international, regional, national, and private finance can be better connected to climate priorities, project readiness, technical and institutional capacity, climate-risk evidence, locally led implementation, and monitoring of resilience outcomes. The discussion will also explore how regional institutions and mechanisms can build the technical expertise and capacity to access and mobilise climate finance. USP has developed an undergraduate climate change programme incorporating climate finance and related courses, building on its existing postgraduate climate finance course, with plans to develop a master's programme in climate finance. The panel will identify practical recommendations for strengthening the pathway from finance to locally led resilience.
