Pacific Ocean Leadership: Science, Innovation & Investment

Pacific Ocean Science, Innovation & Investment Showcase: This session underscores the role that science, observation and research plays in supporting ocean stewardship, linking to national planning and investor decision making, while meeting both economic and climate priorities. Highlighting Pacific-led concepts such as the RV Pasifika in supporting research and scientific knowledge building, and the Micronesian Conservation Trust, Niue Ocean Wide (NOW) and Pacific Ocean Wide Ambition (POWA), and the Pacific Tuna Company as models that support conservation and economic outcomes at both a national and regional scale. Presenters will discuss national and regional lessons, and opportunities to build and scale successful models from community or national levels to regional levels.
