The Australian COP31 Presidency of Negotiations is convening this briefing to highlight the critical role of electrification in advancing climate, energy and development objectives. As a key enabler of the energy transition, electrification complements efforts to accelerate renewable energy deployment, improve energy efficiency, strengthen grids and expand energy access.
