Powering the Pacific: Climate Resilience, Energy Security and Development

Powering the Pacific brings together Pacific and Australian leaders, communities and experts to highlight opportunities, challenges and new evidence around the Pacific energy transition. Sharing insights from REnew Pacific’s on-the-ground impact across the region and launching a new electrification report from the University of New South Wales, panelists will discuss the opportunities that ongoing renewables deployment and accelerated electrification present for Pacific Island countries, including enhanced energy security, expanded energy access, greater economic resilience and social and economic development.  The discussion will examine how renewable deployment and accelerated global electrification are complementary and essential pathways to transform energy systems and keep the 1.5°C goal within reach.
